How to Apply
Once you have selected a lecture and you and the Speaker have decided on a mutually agreeable time and date for the presentation, you are ready to complete and submit the Speakers in the Schools Application.
Please remember that funding is not guaranteed. Speakers in the Schools is a competitive program, and the Council may not be able to fulfill all requests. Please also familiarize yourself with your responsibilities as a Lecture Coordinator as indicated in our Common Questions.
Funds will not be awarded to applications:
- Arriving less than five (5) weeks in advance of the proposed lecture date
- Arriving prior to contacting the Speaker for confirmed date and time
- Arriving incomplete
- From Lecture Coordinators who have already hosted three (3) lectures during the calendar year*
- For lectures that are not primarily for a high school community
- For lectures that are to be used as part of any fundraising activity
Within three (3) weeks of submitting your application, both you and your requested Speaker will be notified of the Council’s decision. If you have further questions about the Speakers in the Schools program, please view our Common Questions or call the Council at (212) 233-1131.
* This is not a limit of lectures per school, only per individual Lecture Coordinator.
