Grants

Grant support is awarded to nonprofits that inspire New Yorkers to explore what it means to be human.  Through two competitive grant programs, the Council offers nimble and responsive grants to support the diverse arts and culture sector of New York State.

As of February 2015, the Council is proud to announce that our Planning and Project Grants have gone through a redesign. Introducing Vision and Action Grants!

We've removed the match requirement to make it easier for you to begin your planning process and start new collaborations.

What's changed?

We've increased the grants to $5,000 to help groups like yours implement exceptional humanities programs!

You should apply if you are working with an exciting group of people, and want to brainstorm how the humanities can enrich your program ideas.

You should apply if you know the who, what, when, and how of your public humanities programs & are ready to make them a reality.
