Planning Grant Awarded to Vietnamese Mid-Autumn Festival at the Long Island Children’s Museum
From September 2012 through January 2013, the Long Island Children’s Museum will host a traveling exhibition exploring the culture and traditions of Viet Nam. To compliment this exhibition, the Long Island Children’s Museum is planning an ambitious slate of public programs to help visitors deepen their understanding of Vietnamese culture and encourage more participation from Long Islanders of Vietnamese and other Asian backgrounds. Council funds are being used to plan the centerpiece of this programming, a Mid-Autumn Children’s Festival or Tet Trung Thu, which will involve a range of educational and hands-on experiences for visitors.
