Celebrating Women of Character and Courage

March 21 - March 27, 7:00 PM

The Little Theatre, WXXI and Susan B. Anthony Institute (SBAI) are embarking on a third year of partnership in hosting the Women’s History Month film series â€" seven films and community discussions over the course of seven days. By planning and programming as a team, the involved organizations are able to share more films and discussions with a larger combined audience. The Little Theatre, WXXI and SBAI are excited to introduce more cultures and perspectives around issues of social injustice in the lives of women to audiences in New York with our inclusive and uplifting theme: “Celebrating Women of Character and Courage”. The theme is meant to celebrate all kinds of women with varying personalities, and show that accomplishments of every size can be extremely valuable. Often, the obstacles women encounter are the effect of multiple modes of oppression; it’s hoped that these films and discussions will bring an awareness of the many types of oppression that women face in their communities. The series will explore the lives of women and girls in underserved populations across the globe, the inequalities and hardships they face, and the ways in which they have been able to create change.
