February 16, 3:00 PM
The D.R.E.A.M. Freedom Revival -- a "tent revival for freedom and democracy" -- is a grassroots, musical, participatory theater company based in Syracuse, NY, that uses celebratory, locally-inflected theater to invite people into substantive conversations about issues that affect their lives.
"Snow on the Rooftop, Fire in the Furnace!" is a partnership with the Ida Benderson Senior Action Group of Syracuse, which hopes to use our style of popular theater to bring people together to talk about the issues facing senior citizens, especially low-income senior citizens, in Syracuse. One goal is to educate the public about seniors' 2011 displacement by the city of Syracuse from their longtime community home, The Ida Benderson Center.
The hour-long performance begins at 3pm, followed by a shared meal and facilitated dialogue based on the content of the Revival.
Please RSVP to ia@syr.edu or 315-443-8590.
