The program is based on a reading of the book "American Passage: The History of Ellis Island" by Vincent J. Cannato (Harper, 2009). Program participants will read the book and attend one of three book discussions in September and October. On October 2 the group will travel to Ellis Island by bus, where Vincent Cannato will lead a tour of the island and the immigration museum. An online discussion of the book will take place at the Ellis Island Program blog (http://ellisislandprogram.blogspot.com). Book discussion leader Suzanne Fisher and author Vincent Cannato will moderate the blog. Registration is required. The library is handicapped accessible.
