Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service

Community Conversations provides New Yorkers with an opportunity to reflect on Dr. King’s legacy of service and its meaning in today’s world. Each conversation uses a text that celebrates service and civil rights as a jumping-off point to explore the personal and social importance of public service and civic engagement.

Community Conversations toolkits for the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service offer everything necessary for “do-it-yourself” discussions, including:

  • Texts suitable for different age groups.
  • Sample discussion questions.
  • Guidelines for starting and sustaining good conversation.
  • Tips on how to host a conversation.
