Call for New Members to the Board of Directors

The New York Council for the Humanities invites applications and nominations for election of new members to its Board of Directors for three-year terms. The Council a not-for-profit organization dedicated to presenting the best in humanities scholarship to New Yorkers throughout the state relies on its Board for leadership and expertise. Board members exercise important fiduciary, governance and programmatic responsibilities, and play a central role in helping to raise public and private revenues.

Prospective members of the Board of Directors should have a strong commitment to the Council’s mission; represent a diverse cross-section of constituencies across New York State; have the ability to actively participate in the work of the Council, which includes participation on at least one committee; make a personal financial contribution commensurate with their abilities and sphere of influence; and attend Council plenary meetings, which are held four times a year.
